Lesson 4: Life Cycle of a Plant & Edible “Dirt” Cups
Category: Science—This lesson includes information about the life cycle of a plant
Purpose: To learn about the life cycle of a plant and make a fun treat
Plants require soil or dirt to grow, and the more nutrients the soil has, the stronger the plant will grow. There are five main steps in the life cycle of a plant that grows a fruit. These steps begin with a seed being planted, then a sprout (a mini plant), then a plant, then a plant with flowers, then finally the fruit will grow where the flowers were. Plants such as flowers get pollinated by bees who fly back and forth gathering nectar to eat, on the way they spread pollen that helps create more and more plants and flowers. Plants are a very important part of our diet, so it is important to know how they grow!
Now, it’s time for an extra fun activity—”Dirt” Cups! Inspired by the life cycle of a plant lesson.
